Spring has sprung!

Make the most of  spring, consider offering your digestive system a well deserved break from grains, following a winter of pies, pasta, biscuits and bread.

How much grain do you eat in a week?  spaghetti, sandwiches, cakes and biscuits, plus all the hidden grain in sauces and meat products.  This is out of proportion to a healthy balanced diet requiring vegetables and fruit as well as protein animal and vegetable.  If you were to take your weekly consumption of grain and compare it to your vegetable intake, what would it look like?

Having more vegetables and fruit instead of wheat and grain based products, you receive more vitamins, minerals such as folate, potassium, iron and zinc and water .  Lightly cooked they are easier to digest and very tasty; try them roasted, boiled mashed, stir-fried or steamed.  Marry with some tiger prawns and a little home made honey and tamari sauce sprinkled with sesame seeds and a squeeze of lime, yummy. Nutritionist Fulham
